A stay at Island View Guest House puts you up, up and away above the traffic and congestion that frequents St. Thomas. Located between the main town of Charlotte Amalie and the Cyril E. King Airport in the Scott Free residential neighborhood, the guest house is the perfect spot for anyone who doesn't mind renting a car or relying on taxis.

The view is spectacular from all the rooms. It overlooks both the harbor and land for a combination of both blue and green against the tropical sky. The spacious rooms feature carpeting, pastel spreads and off-white drapes and ceiling fans. Some have air-conditioning, but you'll pay extra. The rooms aren't fancy, but more than adequate for the budget vacationer. Those on a barebones wallet can share a bath or opt for a private bath just off the hallway.

The owners also provide a complimentary continental breakfast - toast, juice and coffee - served on the pool terrace. A full breakfast is available for an extra charge.

The closest beach, Lindbergh Bay, is a five-minute ride down the hill, but the pool provides a place to sun while you enjoy the view.

The guesthouse puts you right above the busy Nisky Shopping Center, where you'll find fast food and adequate shopping for necessities.
